Methods and Maruka (Kansas City, MO) have been working together since 2013. Over the last two years, Maruka has reduced conflicting product lines throughout its territories in order to shift its focus on manufacturing solutions to products and automated solutions from Methods Machine Tools. According to Methods, as a result of this change, Maruka has grown substantially year over year as it becomes more strategically aligned with Methods.
“We are very excited for the opportunity to continue strengthening our relationship with Methods Machine Tools,” said Gary Lowery, CEO of Maruka.
Maruka USA already has a presence in the Minneapolis area. Maruka owns Industrial Tool Inc. (ITI) led by president and CEO Pat Hjelm. Established in 1974, ITI specializes in fixture building, custom machines, automation, and full turnkey capabilities for machine tending and associated processes.
Methods has put together a transition plan to minimize the impact of the change from Methods’s current dealer in those territories to Maruka, with the goal of minimizing impact on customers. From now through Dec. 8, Methods’s current dealer will continue to handle all sales, service, and support in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska.
