The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) — the technical society for individuals in the field of tribology and lubrication engineering — is hosting its Second Annual Tribology & Lubrication for E-Mobility Conference, to be held November 30-December 2, 2022, at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in San Antonio, Texas (USA).

The three-day technical conference, organized by STLE’s Engine and Drivetrain Technical Committee, will offer industry professionals educational sessions, group and panel discussions, and networking with industry experts on the latest advancements and future outlook for the electric vehicles (EVs) market.

“We’re pleased to announce the return of our annual e-mobility conference,” said Ed Salek, CAE, STLE’s executive director. “The rapidly changing EV landscape demands that tribology and lubrication professionals stay ahead of what’s next, and STLE has the resources, experts and know-how that today’s businesses need to stay informed.”

The conference will feature more than 30 speakers from leading companies and organizations with an interest in e-mobility, with discussions focusing on state-of-the-art developments in EV technology and lubrication. Confirmed participants include speakers from Afton Chemical, BASF, Volkswagen, Cargill, Clariant, ExxonMobil, Lubrizol, Valvoline, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Southwest Research Institute, Texas A&M University and Auburn University, among others.

Technical sessions will be presented from Wednesday (November 30) through Friday (December 2). The conference will feature a keynote session on Wednesday, November 30 — The Need of Novel Lubricating Oils for Electrical Driveline Applications – Technical Demands and New Test Methods,” presented by Ing Jörg Fahl, Ph.D., technical director, Lubricants & Tribology, Volkswagen AG — and a networking event from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CT. The Tribology and Lubrication for E-Mobility Conference offers a hybrid format to provide in-person and virtual attendees with the best learning experience possible. Please note in-person registration at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) is now sold out! Attendees are encouraged to sign up for virtual registration to participate in the conference. STLE is offering a complimentary collection of digital proceedings of the technical presentations to registered in-person and virtual attendees to access presentation slides and recordings after the event.
