ESCO Tool (Holliston, MA) introduced a portable pipe beveler featuring large mounting clamp pads that spread their clamping forces radially to mount securely and provide chatter-free welding end preps. The Commander MILLHOG® I.D. clamping pipe beveling machine is designed to prep all schedules of pipe from 3.75” I.D. to 14” O.D. using one mandrel and seven sets of clamps.
Employing formed cutter blades with chip breakers that direct heat away from the pipe’s surface to prevent work hardening, this beveler can perform 37-1/2° bevels, compound, counterbore, and J-preps on Super Duplex and other high-alloy pipe materials.
High-Speed Grinder/Notcher Creates Perfect Notches in Seconds
Scotchman Industries’ (Philip, SD) AL150 HS high-speed abrasive grinder/notcher is a two-in-one machine that includes a grinding belt and pipe grinder to create perfect notches in seconds and is 40 times faster than the original AL150. With a belt speed of 150 ft/sec, its benefits include faster grinding with less dust/particles, less color distortion due to heat and a 2-to-3 times longer belt life. This machine can grind any angle from 20°-to-90° on square, rectangular, and round pipes of varying wall thicknesses. These notchers are offered in three sizes with capacities from 3/8″- to-2-3/8″ tube with 1/8″ wall (Schedule 40). Patent is pending.
