Feintool continues to expand and invest to meet customer demand for next-generation hybrid-capable transmissions. “Our $35 million, 47,000 sq ft. expansion represents a 25 percent increase at our Nashville, TN facility. It is an integral part of Feintool’s ongoing global strategic approach to meet and deliver a full range of automotive parts for powertrain, seating, and safety components,” said Christoph Trachsler, CEO, Feintool U.S. Operations.

“Given strong sales and Feintool’s commitment to leadership in technology, this is another step in our North American strategy to deliver the best value for our customers through modern equipment, automation, and vertical integration.”

In Nashville, Feintool is making room for a new 1,600-ton direct servo transfer press that is planned to go into service in Q1 2025. “The expansion will create up to 50 new jobs to help meet demand for automotive transmissions, hubs, clutch baskets, and gear spiders,” said Dan Swiger, Vice President and General M

This significant investment allows Feintool to expand its capabilities in metal forming and combine large-tonnage, extended-table direct-drive servo technology on the new forming presses with state-of-the-art in-tool roller tool technology. The investment also gives Feintool the ability to form high-quality components in a single tool run and at lower costs compared to other machining processes.

Additional presses and capabilities include two new 880-ton fineblanking presses, CNC lathes, laser welding, parts washers, and other secondary equipment. Feintool opened its first North American plant over 40 years ago and today produces over one million automotive parts per day between its Nashville, TN and Cincinnati, OH facilities.
