HIGH PERFORMANCE TOOLING FOR TITANIUM

Onsrud Cutter LP, a leading supplier of cutting tools to the aerospace industry, has introduced a line of high-performance end mills for titanium materials. The offering consists of roughers and finishers optimized for deep pocket milling. Roughers are designed for high metal removal rates with addition of variable flute indexing that reduces chatter.

NEW STRAIGHT SHANK FCR DELIVERS LOWER CUTTING RESISTANCE

BIG Kaiser Precision Tooling Inc. extends its popular Fullcut Mill line with the new Straight Shank FCR, designed for greater DOC and lower cutting resistance. The new Straight Shank FCR’s geometry expands capabilities in multi-functional milling, achieving supreme performance for ramping, helical-, shoulder- and plunge-milling operations.

H-13 EJECTOR SLEEVES NITRIDED FOR OPTIMUM WEAR RESISTANCE

A new line of ejector sleeves that are machined from H-13 hotwork die steel and nitrided on the inside and outside surfaces for optimum wear resistance are being introduced by Regal Components, Inc. ESL H-13 Nitrided Ejector Sleeves are machined from H-13 hotwork die steel and nitrided on the ID and OD to Rc 65-74.

FLEXIBLE TOOL CRIBS AS PART OF COMPLETE STORAGE SYSTEM

Lista International Corporation offers its tool cribs for use with various Lista storage solutions. When combined with Lista cabinets (stacked or unstacked) or the company’s Storage Wall® system, the tool cribs can become part of an integrated CNC parts storage and transport system to accommodate a wide array of tooling.

CUT TO THE CHASE

Viewpoint Revisited: Two years after this presentation was originally published, the insights being explored to bring cutting technology to the frontline of U.S. manufacturing are worth thinking through one more time, in the face of some potentially tough economic times.

SMARTER AND SIMPLER

A Jig-less Tooling Concept: Sweden is a high-cost country, but SAAB Aerostructures keeps winning orders ? currently supplying the latest programs of both Airbus and Boeing with composite parts. Richard Lindquits of SAAB shows us one of the key techniques he uses to remain a preferred supplier to the big integrators.
